The 2007 holiday season rocked out courtesy of Anthem and some of the greatest local rock acts in Boston. Anthem’s Holiday Rock Show featured Genuflect and Haloburn as co-headliners with special guests Debris, Triage, Full Tilt, Birch Hill Dam, Hour Before Dawn, and Fallen Shall Rise. This jam packed lineup performed to a full house filled with holiday spirit and you’ll definitely want to include this show in your holiday plans next year!
Fashion Forward Saturdays: Fall Fashion Show

Anthem presented a night filled with fashion featuring designs from By Audrey Designs, Emsi Couture, Mathew DiSpagna, and Denisse Mayers Paulino. The night showcased high style, fall fashion and even body painted models as an added element to the night. The DJ mixed some great music and even the VIPs were extra important people on this night with a great VIP package provided by BuyYourFriendADrink.com. Halloween Rock Show at The Roxy

Halloween weekend 2007 was anything but boring. This all-ages event featured some of the greatest local rock acts in Boston. Genuflect and Debris were featured co-headliners and Hour Before Dawn, Escape 2 Everything, Triage, Gravehaven, and Stoic completed this high energy night. To top it off, our own Boston Red Sox won the 2007 World Series on this evening and everyone was able to see them in their glory on the Roxy’s jumbo screen TVs. A night that is sure to not be forgotten.

Anthem hosted a night filled with great music featuring some of our favorite local Boston acts. Chloe and the Pappas, who are no stranger to Anthem’s music events, were the headliners this evening. They were supported by Groovelement, Theresa Flaminio, and The Influenced. These young acts have some real talent and The Lounge was filled on this night with both old and new fans.
All Day Music Festival

This revolutionary event is one of the largest, multistage indoor events in recent memory. Anthem brought together over 30 of New England’s up-and-coming musicians in various genres for this one-day festival. Bands competed for one of ten prizes offered, including a large cash grand prize. Patrons of all ages enjoyed various genres of music from 11am until 2am at this annual Boston festival.

Anthem hosted a night filled with live music at a venue that is no stranger to the music industry this past July. Part of a three show series at The Middle East Downstairs, this stacked hard rock lineup packed the house with all original music and left the crowd begging for more.
This show also marked the end of the band Asystole who parted ways after headlining this evening and Anthem was honored to host the band’s send off show. Other artists featured were Ship High in Transit, Debris, Breathe, Gravehaven, and Genuflect. Every band put on a fantastic, high energy performance to a sold out crowd.

Anthem held it’s first in a series of free networking events geared at young professionals and college and graduate students. The events focus on areas of the sports and entertainment industry that Anthem excels in. This month’s event was hosted by Anthem President, Chris Sinclair and featured premiere speakers from the college and professional ranks including:

DC Battle of the Bands - The Finals

The much anticipated finals of Anthem Entertainment's Battle of the Bands competition in Washington DC was all the hype for the month of June. After 12 weeks of competition, and starting with 75 bands, it all came down to 7 bands and 1 night. It was a packed house at the Broad Street Tavern and Bradley James and the Rhodies (Formerly Adage Rd) was crowned the winner of the 2007 Anthem Battle of the Bands competition in DC.

Mus-Art was a huge success back in June with over 150 people in attendance. This energetic fusion of music and art featured both artists and photographers showcasing their physical work, and even a jewelry designer, in addition to the entertainment of live, acoustic musicians. This laid-back evening is a change from your typical Thursday night and you can now attend this event every month on the private 4th floor of The Greatest Bar.
McGann's Head-2-Head

May 1st marked the beginning of Anthem’s Head-to-Head Series at McGann’s and fresh, new talent has poured in ever since. Every Tuesday two or three bands have gone head-to-head, where the crowd chooses the winner. The winner from every Tuesday then comes back the last Friday of the month and competes in an all out battle to be crowned that month’s winner. The winning bands receive a cash prize and a future paid Anthem show. The May winner was The Yer Moms and other winners include The Trees (June), and Two Hour Change (July).
Anthem Idol
Searching Boston for it's best solo performer!

Anthem Entertainment kicked off its search for Boston’s best solo performer in late April to be crowned the first Anthem Idol. Featured judges from the Boston music scene and crowd votes narrowed it down from about 50 singers in the opening round weeks to just 18 for the finals on June 1st. The competition was stiff, but Boston finally crowned their first Anthem Idol: Liz Lohnes. Liz received a future show with Anthem Entertainment as well as a recording session at Lime Light Studios where the competition was held. Second and third place winners, Cary Wells and Kameelah Benjamin-Fuller both received small cash prizes. All the Anthem Idol finalists will be featured in an upcoming showcase at a later date, so keep your eye on the calendar as you won’t want to miss these great voices!

Anthem's first ever Rockin' Runway event was a huge hit this past St. Patrick’s Day – an energetic fusion of fashion and rock music with something for everyone to enjoy. The private 4th floor of Felt was decked out in Irish flair, and the night was filled with great fashion and great music. Local designers Mathew DiSpagna of DiSpagna Designs LTD, Mary Cerio of Emsi Couture, and Lynn Filandia showcased their spring/summer lines with the hottest models around who strutted their stuff to the music of some of Boston's best music acts: The West, Mike Maven & The Good Life, and Elephant House. Look out for the next Rockin’ Runway event this fall!

Anthem Entertainment kicked off its East Coast Battle of the Bands competition in Washington, DC this past March. Over 150 applied and about half were granted a roster spot in the opening rounds. 75 of the DC area's best up and coming acts battled it out to make it all the way to the finals. At least 8 acts competed each week for 6 weeks and only 33 bands total moved on to the next round. Judges didn’t rule all in this battle as the crowd got to have their say and vote for their favorite as well. Prizes included graphic design work, an optional national tour through 5 East Coast cities for ALL finalists, a recording session, gift certificates, weekly cash prizes, and much more!

Valentine's Day 2007 was jam packed along the East coast in Anthem’s major markets with Anthem’s first annual Lock & Key events. Not even snow and ice could keep those looking to be lucky in love away from Lir in Boston this past Valentine’s Day. Ladies received locks and guys keys; matches were made and everyone indulged in complimentary appetizers and chocolate covered strawberries. The lucky couples to win the raffles also received $50 gift certificates to be used together or separately! Valentine’s Day 2007 was definitely a success.

Anthem kicked off the young new year with some of the best in the Boston music scene back in January. This talented lineup featured such acts as The Black Tie Affair, Alexis Babini, Trans Cardia, September Twilight, Kidnapkin, and The Press. Door prizes and raffles made this a night not to be missed, and faithful fans came in droves for this great night of music.
